How it works
The PNG is decoded, transparent pixels are flattened by the encoder, and the image is re-encoded with lossy JPEG compression.
Important limitations
- JPG cannot preserve transparency.
- JPEG encoding can introduce visible artifacts at lower quality.
- Line art and screenshots may be larger or less sharp as JPG.
