How it works

FileFruit decodes and re-encodes supported images without embedded metadata, then re-inspects supported output fields where the browser can verify them.

Important limitations

  • Re-encoding can change file size or image compression.
  • Browser parsers cannot prove removal of every proprietary metadata block.
  • HEIC or HEIF handling can require consented secure processing.

Privacy

FileFruit processes supported files in the browser when reliable and asks for consent before any secure fallback upload. Temporary cloud resources expire after the configured one-hour window.
