Actual file signatures are checked before processing.

Supported formats

Accepts PDF. Produces PDF. The recommended per-file limit for this tool is 75 MB.

How to use it

  1. Choose one unencrypted PDF.
  2. Review the detected file and page count.
  3. Run PDF optimization.
  4. Download the optimized copy when the measured reduction is meaningful, or keep the unchanged original.

How it works

The local PDF engine loads the document and saves compact object streams. It does not rasterize pages, downsample embedded images, or promise a particular reduction.

Important limitations

  • Image-heavy PDFs may not become much smaller.
  • Encrypted or malformed PDFs are rejected.
  • The tool does not downsample or recompress embedded images.

Useful for

  • Optimize a structurally inefficient PDF.
  • Rebuild a document before an upload.
  • Check whether object-stream savings help a file.

Privacy

This tool processes supported files in your browser. File contents are not uploaded by this dedicated workflow.

FAQ

Will Optimize PDF make every file smaller?

No. Savings depend on object structure. Image-heavy and already optimized PDFs may not shrink because embedded images are not recompressed.
