Video trimming questions

Are trim times always frame-exact?

Not always. Media boundaries and codec behavior can shift the exact cut point slightly.

Does trimming re-encode the video?

Compatible streams are copied without re-encoding. That preserves their existing quality but can move a cut to a nearby keyframe.
